Privacy Policy

The images you capture and the text recognised from them stay on your device. The recognition engine ships inside the app and runs with no connection; we do not receive your photos or your results, and there is no account to create. Ads in the free version do use the network, and this policy sets out exactly how.

01What this policy covers

This policy explains how BUKCS PTE. LTD. ("we") handles information in the Snapuno mobile app and on snapuno.com. It applies to both the iOS and Android versions.

By installing or using the app you accept the practices described here. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

02Our approach

The app is built so that recognition needs no server. Analysing the camera frame, reading QR codes and barcodes, recognising text, splitting a business card into fields, extracting Wi-Fi details, storing results and reading them aloud all run locally on your device.

We do not create an account for you and we do not ask for your name, phone number or address.

03Camera and captured images

The app uses the camera permission to scan. Preview frames are used only to decide what is in view and are not stored.

A captured image is saved to the app’s own area of device storage and used as the thumbnail in your scan history. It is not transmitted to us. Deleting the history entry, clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes it.

04Text and code recognition

The text recognition models and the code reader are bundled in the installed app and execute on the device. No image or text is transmitted to us or to a third party as part of recognition, and the feature works with no network connection.

Recognised text is shown on the result screen and, when auto-save is on, written to a database inside the app. Turning auto-save off in settings stops that.

05Business cards and contacts

When a business card is recognised, the name, organisation, title, phone numbers, email and address are separated into fields and shown to you. This processing happens on the device and the result is not sent to us.

Pressing "Save contact" is what triggers the request for contacts permission and writes the entry to your phone book. We do not read your address book and have no knowledge of its contents.

You are responsible for scanning and keeping personal data printed on someone else’s card. Please observe the data protection law that applies where you are.

06Wi-Fi details

The app extracts a network name and password from a Wi-Fi QR code or from a printed notice. Extraction and character correction happen on the device, and joining the network is done by handing the values to your operating system.

We cannot see which network you joined or what its password was.

07Scan history

With auto-save on, each result — its kind, the text, the thumbnail and the timestamp — is stored in a database inside the app. That database does not leave the device.

You can delete entries individually, and clearing app data or uninstalling removes all of them. We hold no backup, so a deleted entry cannot be restored by us.

08Photo access

Photo access is requested only when you choose to run recognition on an image from your gallery. The app reads the image you picked; it does not browse or upload your photo library.

09Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To request and deliver an ad, Google may collect your device advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA), an approximate location inferred from your IP address at country level, and device and app information.

This happens only at the moment an ad is served. Your scanned images and recognised text are never part of an ad request.

Users in the EEA and the UK are shown a consent screen on first launch; without consent, ads are non-personalised. You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.

Google’s own practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy. Subscribing to Snapuno Pro stops the ads and the associated collection.

10Website visit statistics

On our website (snapuno.com) we keep first-party visit statistics: the campaign parameters of the link you arrived from (for example utm_source, ad click identifiers), the referring site, which sections you scrolled to and whether you pressed a store button. These are tied to a random identifier stored in a cookie for 30 days. We do not store your IP address, and these statistics are never linked to data inside the app.

To measure advertising that links to our website we may use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms. The pixel runs on the website only, never inside the app. Meta’s own practices are described at facebook.com/privacy/policy. Tracking-protection features in your browser block the pixel.

11Subscription billing

Snapuno Pro is billed through the App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store payment details, including card numbers.

We use RevenueCat, Inc. to check subscription status. That exchange carries the anonymous purchase token issued by the store and a random identifier generated by the app; it contains no name, email or other identifying information.

12What we do not collect

  • Account details such as name, date of birth, phone number or address — there is no account.
  • Precise (GPS) location.
  • The contents of your contact list.
  • Captured images or recognised text.
  • Data belonging to other apps on your device.

13International transfers

We are a Singapore company. The advertising and subscription checks described above may be processed on infrastructure operated by Google LLC (including the United States) and RevenueCat, Inc. (United States).

What is transferred is limited to the advertising identifier and purchase token described above, at the moment an ad is requested or a subscription is verified. You can restrict use of the advertising identifier in your device settings.

14Retention

Scan history and images are kept until you delete them, and they are kept on your device rather than by us.

Retention of advertising and subscription data follows each provider’s own policy.

15Children

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age set by local law. If you believe a child’s information has been processed, write to privacy@snapuno.com and we will look into it.

16Your rights

Data held on your device can be viewed and deleted from within the app. Clearing history in settings, or uninstalling, removes it.

Depending on where you live — under the Korean Personal Information Protection Act, the EU and UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act, among others — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing. Write to privacy@snapuno.com and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.

We do not sell personal information.

17Security

Data on the device is protected by the application sandbox your operating system provides. Please set a screen lock and keep your operating system current.

No method is perfectly secure. What this app does is reduce the exposure structurally: there is no personal data held on our servers to lose.

18Changes to this policy

When features change or the third-party services we rely on change, this policy changes with them. Material changes are announced in the app, and the last-updated date at the top of this page tells you when it was revised.
